DeSL Launches AI Assist: An Intelligent Fashion Copilot Built Into PLM

DeSL, a Business Unit of Textile Solutions Group (TSG), has launched AI Assist — an intelligent assistant embedded directly into its AI-powered Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform.

Designed to act as a Fashion Copilot for apparel and fashion teams, AI Assist helps users complete routine tasks faster, locate product information more easily, and improve productivity across the product lifecycle — without leaving the PLM environment.

What AI Assist Is

Unlike standalone AI tools that operate outside core business processes, AI Assist works within existing product development and sourcing workflows.

By drawing on product data, supplier information, specifications, and documents held within DeSL PLM, it enables teams to retrieve information through natural language queries, generate photorealistic garment concepts, automate repetitive data entry, draft product descriptions and summaries, and streamline supplier document review.

AI in Fashion PLM: Why It Matters Now

Fashion and apparel organizations are navigating an increasingly complex operating environment — shorter development cycles, growing supplier networks, expanding compliance requirements, and rising pressure to bring products to market faster.

At the same time, product teams are managing more data than ever before across specifications, materials, certifications, and supplier communications.

Embedding AI directly into PLM workflows addresses this complexity at the source — not by adding another tool, but by making existing processes faster, more accurate, and less dependent on manual effort.

For organizations already investing in digital transformation, AI-assisted PLM represents a practical next step toward more connected and efficient product development operations.

AI Assist Within the TSG Ecosystem

The launch of AI Assist reflects TSG’s broader commitment to embedding intelligence across its integrated digital ecosystem.

As the Group continues to connect product development, enterprise planning, and manufacturing execution across its Business Units, AI capabilities at the PLM level strengthen the data foundation that supports faster decisions and more efficient operations across the textile and apparel value chain.

Colin Marks, Managing Director of DeSL, comments:

“AI Assist brings practical, embedded intelligence into the daily workflows of fashion and apparel teams. It is designed to remove friction, not replace people — helping our customers focus on the creative and strategic work that drives real business value.”
